At the end of January 2026, ETABO began work on dismantling, manufacturing, delivering, installing, and commissioning the piping for the new turbine and district heating pipeline at the new district heating plant at MVR Müllverwertung Rugenberger Damm.
The “Extended Heat Utilization MVR” project taps into new potential for energy extraction through plant optimization and will feed the energy generated into the public district heating and electricity grid in the future – an important contribution to Hamburg's sustainable energy supply.
ETABO's services include:
✔ Integration of the new pipelines into existing systems, including partial dismantling
✔ Delivery and installation of pipelines, components, and fittings
✔ Support with the commissioning of the new district heating plant as part of a BoP lot
The project is part of Hamburg's major “Energiepark Hafen” project, which will eventually replace the Wedel cogeneration plant and prepare the city for a climate-friendly future.
We are delighted to contribute our technical expertise to the successful implementation of this forward-looking project and would like to thank MVR for their trust in our expertise.
